The Country Park Express operates every weekend, public holidays and school holidays (weather permitting).

We’re always happy to quote for groups to visit and times outside our regular hours are available on request.

Animal Experience

Come along and meet our animals!

Each has their own unique personality and love your attention.

Entry is Free and bags of feed can be purchased from the Speckled Hen Cafe in the Woolshed building or at The Craft Co-op for $3.

Please DO NOT feed anything other than the feed purchased from the Country Park as our animals feed is carefully controlled for their health.

Please DO NOT hand feed Penny the pig as her teeth are sharp!

Children must be supervised at all times to ensure animals are not chased or hurt in any way.

Adventure Playground

Matakana Country Park commissioned Logan Brewer, one of New Zealand’s foremost designers, to design a playground with appeal to children. 

Carriage Rides

'Floris' the Friesian Stallion is a movie star!

When he's not off working or taking a bride to her wedding, he's here Saturdays to take you for a tour around the park.

Rides are $5/person or $20 for a family of five.
